FAQs

Expect a warm welcome, an enriching and transformative experience, and a supportive community that is genuinely ready to embrace you with open arms. Everyone is welcome at THUMC—whether you’ve been attending church your entire life, are returning after a period of absence, or are completely new to the teachings of Christianity.

Here are some of the most common questions we receive from those seeking to connect with our community:

  • Our worship service is located in Celebration Hall in the east building.

If you're coming from the north on Fourth St., turn into the first driveway by the marquee sign.

Parking is available as you enter or at the top of the hill. You can enter through the double doors from the east parking lot or the south doors after going up a short staircase.

  • Wear what makes you comfortable. Everyone is welcome, regardless of appearance or clothing.

  • We believe God invites all of us to participate and experience God’s great love. THUMC is a church that welcomes all people – no matter where you come from, no matter who you are, no matter who you love, no matter how you dress, no matter how you identify, no matter [fill in the blank].

It’s simple, God loves without expectation or judgment, and so we love without expectation or judgment.

  • In the United Methodist Church, we have an 'Open Table.' This means everyone, regardless of age or membership, is welcome at Communion. Everyone is invited to connect with Christ and share in the Lord's Table.

  • Kids are an important part of our church community! All children begin the service with their families and then proceed to our children’s program for ages 3 to 5th Grade to play and learn about the Bible.

  • Teens play an important role in our community but also need personal space. We invite them to worship and volunteer with adults, and we encourage all Junior and Senior High students to join Flagstaff Youth Co-Op at Federated Flagstaff Community Church on the 1st and 3rd Sundays from 6:00-7:30 pm, where they can eat, play, and talk about Scripture together.

  • During the service, we create space to offer our time and money as a way to respond to God's goodness. If you are visiting, please do not feel pressured to join in. This is for those who are part of the THUMC community and want to support our mission.
